To reach beyond your limits by training your mind | Marisa Peer | TEDxKCS

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. You can train your mind to do what you want it to. Collaboration with your mind is crucial, the pictures you make in your head and the words that you say to yourself influence how you feel. So tell yourself better things, stretch your mind – make the unfamiliar, familiar.

  1. I share this talk with lots of people. But I do wonder, why did she not tell her mind "It won't hurt! It doesn't hurt! It feels fantastic!" regarding her arm therapy? I mean, she got her arm healed, but Marisa, how come you didn't you give yourself a more pleasant/logical auto-suggestion? Did it just not occur to you in the moment? Anyone have a clue for me? Thanks.

  2. I have a problem doctor please help . I am a short dude and i dont know how to change this mindset eighther to say short is good and beautiful and masculine !! Or to say im not short !! Im tall enough! Which one ?? The first one seems more rational but it is hard !!!!!!

  3. Are You Searching Hack For Your Games? Well then Vist Google For "Crustygames 4u". You Will End up getting Plenty of Game Hacks There.

  4. Brilliant talk. What she talked are the realities of the functioning of human mind, the underlying principle of NLP. These were also told by Anthony Robbins in his book "Awaken the Giant within" and in his videos of you tube and in his training classes transmitted through you tube. But the difference between Anthony Robbins and this lady is that Robbins talks very fast and loud. This lady's talking is not fast but optimum and the message is more clearly understood by her lecture. Thanks for Marisa Peer.

  5. This is so true. The mind and body does operate in perfect harmony. Here is an example.

I was induced to give birth because I was almost 10 pregnant and my baby wasn't showing any signs of wanting to come into this world. Afterwards, I pleaded and begged my Dr. for a Cesarean because I thought I wouldn't be able to handle the pain of childbirth. Each time she came to check up on me, I pleaded, 'can I please have a Cesarean,' and she'd deny me because I was more than capable to push a boulder out of a pinhole: women having been doing it since the beginning of time.

I did not care about that: I sincerely wanted a C-section. So of course, I went within.

I started to say to myself, I am having a cesarean, I am having a cesarean over and over again. And you know what I received, a cesarean.

Right after my self talk, I was rushed into emergency theater because my baby started to show signs that it was in trouble. My mind and baby heard my earnest plea and decided to assist me in getting my desire. I truly believe that. He was born healthy and strong and had the face of bulldog which I put on his name tag, until we named him, Morgan.

  6. This is the real thing I have ever heard. The subconscious orders the body . The conscious mind have the ability to listen what is happening in the body. It is unusual ? Make tricks and send the feeling of danger to the subconscious mind then it stops the activity. But if you know the conscious mind is tricking you keep continue the subconscious mind is able to adjust things at required speed.

  7. BUT what if you cant believe it and you associate negative emotions and thoughts with that positive goal? like pretty much my body senses im lying to it when i try and i go into this autopilot type mode that just takes flight and runs (fight or flight kicks in, very stressful for small reasons, but feels like its possibly a life impairing decision.) thats where im stuck at right now, will keep trying…:)any advice?

  8. Yep but "the pictures you make in your head and the words you say to yourself" don't come from your brain in the first place?
