Sound waves are all around us, and when harnessed, can do some super cool things. Trace looks at a few ways we’re using the power of sound waves to our advantage.

“People have been able to levitate small objects using sound for years. But applications for the technique are severely limited because scientists hadn’t figured out how to control and manipulate the floating objects. Until now.”

“Submarines are incredible pieces of technology. Not so long ago, a naval force worked entirely above the water; with the addition of the submarine to the standard naval arsenal, the world below the surface became a battleground as well.”

  1. the sound weapon actually kill you yes the Sonic sound weapon there are military strength ones that can incapacitate irritate or kill.. with the right wavelength of sound and frequency.. I am also the author of frequency and its possibilities here on Google search this is where I found this video on the Google search page with my writing frequency and its possibilities.. and this is one of the videos on the Google search page along with my writing. everything is sound in frequency around us even if you cannot hear or see it or feel it everything vibrates and creates sound

  2. 180db will kill you and I'm going to Aphex Twin's concert next summer, he has a track called 180db something, well, I hope I die there.

  3. I have a question about soundwaves:

Since we know that soundwaves can travel through solid materials; and we know that soundwaves can create vibrations, wouldn't it be safe to say that a strong enough soundwave can push an object in a a certain direction even if burried under an inch to 6 inches of dirt?

If this theory can be proven, what would it be like for someone to develop a technology that will emit powerful soundwaves into the ground just ahead of a moving military vehicle in an effort to explode hidden IED's (Imprvised Explosive Devices) before a vehicle full of soldiers has a chance to run over them?

  4. Has anyone used these ideas in media? Because if we had a superhero with sound-based powers, seeing him/her do those things which you described would be pretty interesting. Honestly, it feels like untapped potential for cool ideas in media.

  5. You could also use it to destroy entire structures! Resonance Frequency damage is no joke! And it can be done with Precision Tuning from small devices instead of massive Power Usage. Just takes longer.
Even Nikolai Tesla messed around with it; it's that useful/powerful!

And the LRAD CAN KILL!!! There is a safety switch equipped on them so that they do not cross the Lethal Threshold…
…Why put that switch on them?
