Meredith Harper Houston is an educator, survivor of sexual abuse, and founder & chair of The Swan Within. She is a community partner with the Los Angeles Blue Ribbon Commission on Employment Equity, which gives second chances to formerly incarcerated Angelenos. Mrs. Houston is also a dancer herself, choreographer to stars and the owner of the Merryland Dance Studio.
The Swan Within: Healing Through Ballet is a Los Angeles based non-profit which provides ballet and empowerment to incarcerated teen girls who have been involved in the commercial sexual exploitation of children, sexual abuse, and physical abuse. Mrs. Houston works tirelessly to inform and disrupt misconceptions of sexually exploited youth.
