What has happened to us? Despite the most advanced medical technology in the world, we are sicker than ever by nearly every measure.

Two out of every three of us are overweight. Cases of diabetes are exploding, especially amongst our younger population. About half of us are taking at least one prescription drug. Major medical operations have become routine, helping to drive health care costs to astronomical levels. Heart disease, cancer and stroke are the country’s three leading causes of death, even though billions are spent each year to “battle” these very conditions. Millions suffer from a host of other degenerative diseases.

Could it be there’s a single solution to all of these problems? A solution so comprehensive but so utterly straightforward, that it’s mind-boggling that more of us haven’t taken it seriously?

FORKS OVER KNIVES examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the so-called “diseases of affluence” that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting our present menu of animal-based and processed foods. The major storyline in the film traces the personal journeys of a pair of pioneering yet under-appreciated researchers, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn.

  3. Wow, what a load of deceptive BS. You can wax political and philosophical all you want but you can't change 3 million years of evolution. Humans are omnivores. Our GI tract is designed to efficiently absorb animal proteins – NOT PLANT PROTEINS. And there is ZERO REAL SCIENCE that supports that idea. Is there cruelty in livestock production? Yes! But that doesn't change your DNA! Is the "Western Diet" full of bad nutrition? Yes. But you can't throw the baby out with the bathwater folks. Plant proteins DO NOT support human protein needs at all!!!!! Get educated and stop listening to and reading nonsense.

  4. We cannot get unemployment benefits without it going on a Bank of America card, we cannot get food stamps without it going on a Chase bank card and of course we can buy candy with a food stamp card, but we have to pay to watch this movie! Fuck you!

  5. "Forks Over Knives" has changed my life for the better! This movie opened my eyes! I have lost 25 pounds within one month, my opioid induced constipation is gone, I have been able to cut my long term use of morphine and dilaudid in half and AM HAVING LESS PAIN! Before this shocked me into reality, I was very near death's door. I am now walking out of my front door to ride my bike. Wanna live? Watch and pay attention. Then take control of your own health and well being instead of relying on pills and doctors. The food is so good. For someone who was raised in the south, grease butter bread cheese and meat was it for me. I NEVER REALIZED what I was doing to myself. After a month of eating colorful spinach salads, nuts, cranberries and so on, I LOVE IT. I broke down and had a bowl of chili and it made me sick as a dog. It came out looking the same way it did when it went in! If I can do this, anyone can. Alma

Detoxifying ourselves from meat and Animal based foods is no different than detoxifying from other addictive substances, with the advantage that once we are witnesses to the horrendous realities regarding their origin, makes it much easier to transition and stay on the course and once we are cleansed, we are actually grossed and disgusted at the mere sight, or scent of them, like driving by a fried chicken, or grill joint…Baaarf!

  7. Great information, great video! I have been a vegetarian all my life, but guilty of eating too much of the wrong foods (too much sugar, diary and processed foods). I am going to try to change those bad habits and eliminate all aforementioned foods from my diet!

  8. My mom's doctor told her she needs to lose 60 pounds or she will be on the track to diabetes and heart disease soon. I want to tell her to go plant based but she doesn't think she can live without her 44 oz of soda each day.
